Forever Young At Heart

Sophie Alexander is about to turn sixty.  A milestone in any person’s life, a milestone in a woman’s life.

You’re only as old as you think you are.  Or as young.  I’d like to say as young as I think I am.  Dreams are what keep us young.  And laughter.  Laughter and a sense of humor are the secret of a happy life.  But back to dreams.  Look at me…  older in years and yet a new author.  Self-published but still a writer.  For the love of the story, for the love of the words.  For the love of the work.  Inspires me, makes me feel alive and in love.

So… I’m Sorel.  Born and raised in Guatemala, which makes Spanish my first language.  Have always loved languages.  English being a favorite of mine as a kid.  Loved to read.  Always.  Something I inherited from my father.  My love for theater, from my mother.  My love for art from both of them.

Came to Los Angeles to finish college and, immediately, knew I had found home.  Home.  Home is where my people are and I was lucky enough to have met some wonderful people in this city of angels.  I love LA.  Graduated with a degree in communications and, again, lucky to have found a job straight out of college  working for a company that produced TV shows.  For the last thirty years, I’ve worked consistently as a script supervisor.  Medium of choice… the TV Sitcom, my happy place. Latest production is Call Me Kat with Mayim Bialik.  Worked with her on Blossom, so thrilled to work with her now that she is an adult.

Back to writing.  So… been writing all my life.  Sometimes in my head, sometimes on paper.  Discovered the freedom of self-publishing, where you can be your authentic self.  Chosen form of expression true to the heart.  No limitations.  Many voices.  Lots of stories to tell.  So stay tuned.
